ANNAPOLIS, MD (September 28, 2022)—Traffic Relief NOW today released two radio ads urging state officials and leaders to “get to work” on providing traffic relief for Maryland’s worst-in-the-nation traffic congestion. The two ads will run on radio throughout the state, as well as popular podcasts in the region through early November.
The ads come after a series of positive developments for the New American Legion Bridge I-270 Traffic Relief Plan including the recent announcement of the selection of the design and construction contractor Tutor Perini.
“Maryland traffic is horrible and everyone knows it,” said Traffic Relief NOW spokesman Doug Mayer. Only one question is left – who is going to do something about it? Governor Hogan has been fighting for the Traffic Relief Plan for years and it’s on the cusp of becoming reality. After decades of almost zero progress on traffic congestion, this is a significant development.
“This project will get people moving, create thousands of jobs, produce billions in economic activity, and finally give riders a reliable transit service between Maryland and Virginia. Marylanders are done waiting and done sitting in traffic – the time to act is now.”
Over Capacity
“Do you drive on the American Legion Bridge? Well, it’s been operating over capacity for four decades. It needs to be rebuilt… soon. Luckily there’s a plan to replace the bridge and address Maryland’s gridlocked roads by expanding I-270 and the Capital Beltway with voluntary express lanes. That means more choices and less delays. So, unless you love long commutes, tell Maryland’s elected leaders to get to work. Learn more at TrafficReliefNow.com.”
Traffic is Awesome
“‘I love my long, inconvenient commute… American Legion Bridge traffic is awesome!’ Said no Marylander. Ever. So why can’t we do something about it? Maryland has a plan to replace the bridge and address our gridlocked roads by expanding i-270 and the Capital Beltway with voluntary express lanes. That means more choices and less delays, so, unless you love long commutes—tell Maryland’s elected leaders to get to work. Learn more at TrafficReliefNow.com”
