We are tired of sitting in traffic. Maryland, D.C., and Virginia are constantly ranked one of the most congested and gridlocked regions in the nation. We are joining together to ensure our elected officials and decision makers understand how important this project is to the community at large. WE NEED TRAFFIC RELIEF NOW!

Traffic Relief NOW is an independent, non-profit, grassroots organization dedicated to supporting real solutions to Maryland’s worst in the nation traffic congestion and encouraging both public and private investment in the state’s transportation infrastructure network. Specifically, Traffic Relief NOW is working to ensure that Maryland’s New American Legion Bridge I-270 Traffic Relief Plan is successfully implemented, constructed, and made available to citizens and commuters as soon as possible.
Originally introduced by Governor Larry Hogan in 2017, a transportation infrastructure project that leverages private capital to create two congestion-managed lanes in each direction of the Capital Beltway (I-495) and I-270. These lanes will relieve congestion, improve transit services, incentivize carpooling and allow commuters to save time and money.
We are Marylanders, businesses of all sizes, commuters, and community organizations who have had enough of sitting in traffic that is constantly ranked one of the worst in the nation. We are joining together to ensure that Maryland elected officials and decision makers understand how important this project is and how much community support it has.
Every day countless Marylanders are forced to sit in hours of traffic just to get back and forth from their jobs. And for decades Maryland politicians have done little to nothing to really address it. It doesn’t have to be this way. Other states in the region have figured this out (See Virginia) – their elected officials did what was necessary to get people moving again and out of seemingly endless traffic. Maryland now has a plan – the New American Legion Bridge I-270 Traffic Relief Plan – and it’s time to make sure it gets done.
We want Traffic Relief NOW so that we can get moving again. For decades Maryland politicians have watched their constituents sit in traffic and done very little about it. Politicians talk a lot about the problem but solutions are few and far between. This is simple – Traffic Relief NOW wants the New American Legion Bridge I-270 Traffic Relief Plan implemented, built, and made available to all Marylanders as soon as possible.
